THE annual Southwick Beer and Music Festival is set to take place next weekend.

The festival will be at the Community Centre and Barn Theatre in Southwick Street, on Friday, May 22, and Saturday, May 23. The popular annual event is even more special this year as it takes place in the 70th year since the founding of the Community Association.

The festival offers more than 60 real ales and ciders, home-cooked food including its famous festival curry, a barbecue and live musical entertainment.

Featured bands include Stash on Friday evening, Karl Bashford and Friends on Saturday afternoon, and a double bill of Danny Fox and the Uptown Haddocks and Singer and the Saints on Saturday evening.

The festival raises funds to improve facilities at the Southwick Community Centre. Tickets are £6 in advance or £7 on the door, available through the website or from the centre office (592819) or the Barn Box Office (597094). For information, see www.southwickbeerfestival.co.uk

Individuals and businesses are invited to support the festival with a sponsorship of £50 per cask, which will include the sponsor’s name on a cask, an entry in the festival programme and two complimentary tickets for a session of their choice.
