YOUNG musicians performed an ‘awesome’ acoustic gig at West Street Loft in Shoreham on Friday.
A large crowd enjoyed Shoreham Allstars’ Live at the Loft acoustic night, which also featured singers from Vocalition, a voice coaching group based in St Julian’s Close, Shoreham.
David O’Connell, director of the Allstars, said: “It was ace.
“I got all the Allstars youngsters playing acoustic tunes at the event and, as it featured children with an average age of just 12 filling two-and-a-half hours of acoustic music, it’s pretty much the only event of its kind in Sussex.”
Shoreham Allstars is the flagship collective for Original Allstars Music, a community interest company which aims to provide young people of all backgrounds with the opportunity to experience music and to support them while they learn.
The Allstars are planning another night as part of this year’s Adur Festival, as well as other gigs and events in the next few months. Vist www.shorehamallstars.com for more information.
Vocalition voice coach Lee Ainley posted on Facebook to say it had been an ‘awesome acoustic gig’.
One female trio has particularly impressed, having had only one rehearsal, and she said she looked forward to them ‘doing some great stuff together this year’.
Vocalition courses offer a combination of vocal coaching and performance techniques.
