Wigmore Athletic 1949/50

Terry Lamb wrote in after seeing this photo of the Wigmore Athletic football team from the 1949/50 season in Looking Back.

The photo was originally sent in by Christoper Pearson, whose uncle, Albert Pearson, is pictured on the far left of the front row.

Wigmore did the quadruple that year, winning the Charity Cup, the Sussex Junior Cup, th Worthing Premier League and the Vernon Wentworth Cup.

Terry recognised Alfie Hooper as the man third from left on the back row.

He also identified Jack Skelt, Wally Lambourne and Harry Ansell on the back row, second, third and fourth from right, respectively.

Finally, Terry named the three men in the middle of the front row as, from left to right, Ron Cocozza, Eric Goble and Ferdie Greenfield.

If you can name the other members of the team, please get in touch.
