YOUR guide to what's coming up at the Ropetackle Arts Centre, Little High Street, Shoreham, in the next week.
BAFTA award-nominated comedian Mark Steel entertains at Ropetackle on Saturday, June 13, as part of his national tour.

When he entered his 40s, Mark's personal life began to disintegrate.

Spending many sleepless nights on the sofa, watching inane cable TV into the early hours of the morning, Mark asked himself the question: "What's Going On?".

His new show goes right to the heart of Britain and the problems it suffers today.

Bitingly funny, poignant, sharply observed and very much of the moment, this is Mark Steel at his brilliantly intelligent best.

Tickets £13. Starts 8pm.

Film

The Hellstrom Chronicle Film on Sunday, June 14, is a gorgeous documentary about insects, presented as a science-fiction warning that insects were here before humans and that they will survive us and possibly take over the world at the end.

"Hellstrom" is the narrator, the voice of doom giving all the facts, which are actually pretty convincing, about insects which will enable them to one day be Planet Earth's dominant species.

Tickets £5. Starts 7pm.

Puppets

Journey of Turtle on Monday (June 15) morning is a beautiful story about following your dream, told with shadows, table-top puppets and traditional storytelling.

Suitable for over-fives, this is an imaginative, evolutionary journey of this most fascinating and ancient creature.

School groups are particularly welcome.

Performance 10.30am. Tickets £4.50

Memorial

On Thursday (June 11), The Adrian Mitchell Memorial Gig honours one of our finest-ever radical poets.

Attila the Stockbroker presents an evening of reminiscences and poems, featuring Adrian's son, Alistair Mitchell.

The evening's musical contribution will be from Mitchell-inspired singer-songwriter Al Baker and his band.

Tickets £10. Starts 8pm.
