FIREFIGHTERS searched a burning bungalow for its owner's pets.
Eight cats and two dogs were eventually found safe after a fire broke out at the semi-detatched home in Greet Road, Lancing.
The utility room of the bungalow was severely damaged after the fire, which started because of an electrical fault in a tumbledryer.
The blaze was reported at 6.43pm on Sunday (July 27).
As two firefighters dealt with the fire, two others searched the house for the pets as the elderly woman who lived there waited to find out if they were safe.
Four cats and a dog were initially unaccounted for but were later found hiding around the house.
