AMONG the thousands of people who lost their jobs when Woolworths closed was 17-year-old Angie Garrick.
The Woolworths shop in North Road, Lancing, closed its doors for the final time on January 2.

Angie took her camera to work on the shop's last day, and emailed these pictures to the Herald.

They illustrate the sorry sight of bare shelves, as well as the final customers being served by the store's manager, Giovanni De Lucia.

Angie paid tribute to people shopping in Woolworths who continued to support the troubled chain's Lancing branch until its closure.

She said: "The customers were so supportive to us in the last few weeks and on behalf of everyone we would like to thank them."
