Brighton Odeon cinema closed over '˜fire alarm fault'

Bemused cinema-goers were unable to gain access Brighton Odeon this week, and were confronted with an A4 notice on the door which blamed ‘technical issues’.
Issues reportedly started on Saturday (October 6), and the cinema chain revealed the problem was with a fire alarm.

Hide AdAlmost a week later, by Friday (October 12), the cinema had not reopened, and one customer who had a membership asked on Twitter if the company would be handing out refunds.
But a reply from Odeon’s Twitter @ODEONHelp page, said: “It’s still closed, we won’t be offering refunds I’m afraid as you can still use your card in other cinemas included in your membership.”
The closest Odeon cinemas to Brighton are in Hastings and Tunbridge Wells – both more than 30 miles away.

Hide AdAn Odeon spokesperson said: “Unfortunately a technical fault with the fire alarm means that ODEON Brighton is temporarily closed whilst essential works are underway. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our guests and will be open again soon.”
