Entertainers are wanted to put on a show at a Barnham pub.
Licensee Chris Flynn is hosting a Barnham's Got Talent night at the Barnham Bridge Inn. Anyone who is prepared to get on a stage and perform is invited to join in.

Four performers had signed up by the end of last week. As soon as more have put themselves forward, Chris will fix a date for the show.

The talent contest is just one of the changes which Chris is making to the pub.

She said: "We have a fantastic pub here. It has been suffering from a bad reputation, which is not warranted.

"I am doing everything and anything I can to get people into the pub.

"I don't charge for the use of the function room because I want to get people using it. The more of them there are the better.

"Too many pubs are closing down around the country. I don't want this to be one of them."

Chris' mission to turn round the Barnham Road hostelry began soon after she arrived there last August.

Among the regular events she hosts is a show by the Simply Shadows tribute band on the first Wednesday of each month.

The band's members recently built a stage in the pub and have been rewarded with growing audiences up to 50 strong for their act recreating the classic sounds of the 60s.

A guitarist is also adding to the pub's musical repertoire on the last Sunday of each month. A poker league takes place on Mondays and auctions are held every Thursday.

Chris promises more attractions to pull in customers are on the way.
